Provide a retrieval date in the reference list entry when citing an unstable work that is likely or meant to change.

Examples of unstable work include:

• Work on a website that updates frequently
• Dictionary, thesaurus, or encyclopedia entry that is continuously updated
• Social media profile or page
• Google Maps

Author, A. A. or Group or Organization. (Year, Month followed by day). Title of webpage in sentence case and italics: Capitalize the first word of the subtitle. Name of Website. Retrieved Month day, year from https://www.directlinktowebpage.com/

EXAMPLE:

U.S. Census Bureau. (n.d.). U.S. and world population clock. U.S. Department of Commerce. Retrieved July 3, 2019 from https://www.census.gov.popclock

Notes:

• Author, A. A. = Author's surname followed by first and middle initials, when available.
• Replace author's name with group or organization name, when applicable.
• If no date is visible, use the abbreviations n.d.
• When the author's name and site name are the same, omit the site name from the source element.
• Include the direct URL to the article.
